Wednesday Night Races

In 1959, sailors of AYC initiated seasonal Wednesday night races across Spa Creek inspired by races in Rhode Island. 35 boats entered the race series in 1965. With growing popularity, the series included 112 boats just two years later in 1967. The most recent series, Wednesday Night Races-Series 2 (2023), registered 134 yachts.

In the winter of 1962-1963, AYC began the annual frost-bite race series.
